The End of Another School Year

While we were in Avon a couple Sunday's ago, Tom Nelson brought his Model A out for us to see. Hudson even got to take a ride in it and loved every second!

The Children's Theatre has come again! This year I signed up to be a fabric cutter. I figured even I could follow some lines cut out fabric. I have to say, even though it took well over four of the mandatory volunteer hours to cut out 36 mermaid skirts, it wasn't nearly as stressful as making fairy wings like last year. It's nice to have it done well before rehearsals start.

Jace is 10 months old! He's seriously the cutest little guy! He's quite mobile now as he army crawls with the best of them.

Allie decided to do my hair during quiet time. This is what she came up with.

Maddy had her baby on May 5th and named him Kai. He's a cutie!

The girls had their annual color run PTA fundraiser for school. They definitely had fun throwing chalk at each other and running in their races. After Hudson dumped an entire bottle of chalk on the diaper bag and stroller, I made the decision that this would be our last chalk run. It was fun but now it's done.

Lindsay and Rachel made it out for Mothers Day! We celebrated with a delicious meal made by Lindsay. It was so fun to be together after so long.

Allie's selfies are pretty entertaining.

Lydia had her spring voice recital and I was so proud! She sang The Rose and Castle on a Cloud and did beautifully. She's improved so much since she started. Way to go, Lyddie Bug!

We love Ms. Brittany!

Thursday tennis has started!

Allie and Lydia finished up their soccer season. They both did so well and were key players on their teams the Tigers and Tax Credits.

We celebrated 25 years with Em. Happy birthday, Sister!

Jace swiped Loren's phone and took these photos without us knowing. His foot kills me. Too funny!

It really hasn't been that hot yet. It's stayed in the 60s and 70s and has rained a lot. I'm not complaining at all but it's definitely a little strange. We played with water for a few minutes then the kids got too cold.

Lydia made this diorama for school. It was the cover of a Magic Treehouse book.

Is there anything more adorable than a baby in a bathtub? I submit, there is not. Jace may not agree in a few years.

Lydia mowed the lawn for the first time and did really well. We have arrived!

The last day of school landed before Memorial Day this year. It's earlier than we've ever been out before but the kids weren't complaining! Allie grew so much this year and is excited for first grade with Mrs. Nelson.

Hudson wanted to be in the picture too.

Lydia received the presidential academic excellence award and Dragon Master for reading counts this year. I'm so proud of how hard she worked and can't believe she'll be in fourth grade! She has Mrs. Pruden who was in my ward when I lived in Hyrum.

We didn't make it to all the graves over Memorial Day weekend but will soon. We visited Kaleb and Great Grandpa Rigby.

After that we spent our Sunday afternoon at the Millville park. Lydia found all sorts of treasures and Hudson enjoyed running around. Allie was still sick from the stomach flu so she hung out with me. It was a fun, relaxing time.

The Memorial Day breakfast was lovely. Perfect weather and good food.

Jace made it up one step on the stairs. Noooo. Guess the baby gates will be coming out. Stop growing, little one!

Hooray for summer!

Home Again!

The end of another school year is here and with it brings our cross country road trip to Utah. Yay! We planned our trip two months in advance because my dad needed time to book our hotels. At the time, it seemed like common sense to leave right after Loren's last final on Thursday. I mean, what did we have to wait around for? The sooner the better!    Fast forward a week before we were to leave, I was seriously questioning our decision making abilities. Why didn't we just wait to leave on Friday so Loren could help me pack and finish cleaning? I still had a million things to do and couldn't get any of it done with Lydia wanting my attention. Loren was busy studying for finals and I felt guilty asking him for any help. What the blazes were we thinking?! It was a stressful time, to say the least.    One morning we woke to sirens and fire engines blaring. The visitors center had caught on fire! There was smoke everywhere and we spent the rest of the mornin...

"Grandma and Grandpa- Fun!"

One thing i've really missed while being in Virginia is going to our siblings competitions and events. It's been so fun to be able to see them all in action this month.    Todd and Brendan were both involved in a debate competition. I was really impressed with how well they did, it's a scary thing but they did great!   The Wellsville mile is one of my favorite events of the year. It seems like theres more kids every time and they keep getting faster. We were so proud of Todd and Brendan, they both ran personal best times. Lydia had a blast watching all the kids, she wanted to run with them! Todd's enterauge. Emily and her friends were able to run with him. Great job boys!   This girl has amazed me with her dancing. She's grown so much from last year and is such a gorgeous dancer. It's so much fun to watch her. We went to her end of year dance performance and had a great time. Thank goodness for Loren, he's the only one who remembers to camera to take pictu...

Thanksgiving Bash!.. and Crash

I have to say, this past week has been the most fun and exhausting week we've had in a long time.  But before we get into that, we had our first snowfall a couple weeks ago.  Lydia was DYING to make a snowman so daddy went out and helped her make one. They had a blast!   Here's some of Lydia's school papers.    The weekend before Thanksgiving our basement flooded.  One of the tubes that hook onto the gutter was pointed directly towards our house instead of away.  Thus, we had water in our family room and the unfinished room.  It kept coming in for two days.  About every 10 minutes we had to suck up the water on the first day, then about every hour on the second.  I think we have learned our lesson and plan on digging trenches to make a more efficient drainage system.  Thanks to everyone who helped! No permanent damage was done and we're so grateful.   Loren had a guys night with his...
