As most people know, I love the 4th of July. It's my favorite holiday because it's jam-packed with so many fun traditions. Because of COVID, our 4th looked really different this year. It was still fun, just a little strange not to have our normal routine. We spent the morning at the MC tennis courts with the Swans for my first Swan tennis tournament. It was so fun! I didn't make it too far but Mom and Loren made it to the championship. It was a fun morning.
After that we headed over to the Rigby's. My Uncles Alan and Scott and their families, my grandparents and my family all got together for some 4th of July fun. At first, we each sat under our own shade canopy's to keep with social distancing. As Dru served an epic lunch of smoked meat, he wore a mask, gloves and the whole deal. As the day wore on though we started mingling and found ourselves all under a couple canopies together. It was so good to catch up with my cousins, aunts and uncles. The kids had a blast in the swimming pools. We also had a bike parade and Hudson was thrilled to be included this year.
After that my grandpa ordered Dominos Pizza and we ate together and relaxed a bit before the big fireworks show. Dru bought a ton of fireworks! Big ones and small ones. Hudson and Allie were pretty tired so Loren took them home while Lydia and I stayed for the show. She was really excited to get to stay up late with the big kids. It was fun to be with my girl.
It was so fun to have Nate, Kiana, Em and Tyson here to enjoy the day with. Holidays are so much better with family. Em has been really sick with her pregnancy and we're praying she can find relief soon. Her little squish will be worth it though, we're all so excited for February!
