Free time doesn't come easily these days but the neighbor girls came over to play and Hudson decided to finally take a nap so hopefully I can get through this before someone needs me. The kids are huge fans of their Aunt Maddy!
Our little gentleman.
The girls love to dress as "twins". I think it's pretty cute too!
I had to take a picture of our basement all put back together. It's been such a blessing not to have to worry about water anymore since it's been raining for the most of the past two weeks. I'm just waiting for the word to build our arks.
Lydia has loved soccer! She especially loves being on defense and has a really strong kick. She's come a long ways and improved a lot since last year. That's my girl!
Loren volunteered to watch the kids while I ran over to Nate's college graduation. I'm so proud of him! It's taken a lot of hard work and perseverance but it all paid off.
Sarah was able to come home for a couple weeks before her summer internship starts. To say the girls adore her would be an understatement. They love reading out of the book she got them, stories about brave, intelligent and strong women. I love how she teaches them to be the same. She's amazing.
Treats are definitely the best part of soccer.
Lydia had her spring dance recital. For some reason I thought it started at six but it actually started at seven. So there I was with three kids wondering what to do for an hour. The girls loved having the dance floor to themselves while we waited. Allie, of course had to dress up in her "princess" costume too. She hates to be left out of anything Lydia does.
It was so nice of Aaron, Sarah, Mom Peck, Mom Rigby and Dad Rigby to come support. Lydia felt so loved. It's been a fun dance season.
Our Hud Bud is growing up! He's two months now and is such a smiley boy. I'm learning to adjust to our new life and let go of things I can't control. Keeping my expectations for housework much lower than they've been in the past helps me not become so anxious and discouraged. You just can't stay mad at him for not sleeping when he smiles like this.
Lydia brought this home from preschool for Mother's Day. I'm glad she thinks I'm so skinny because that's definitely not how I feel postpartum!
We had a memorial service for our sweet angel baby, Kaleb. Kaleb was born on May 5th at 20 weeks and lived for 45 minutes. During that time his parents and Greyson were able to hold him and give him a name and blessing. Mary and Cam have both been so strong, so full of faith and hope. But the memorial service was hard. My heart hasn't hurt like that for a long time. I was so grateful when Mary came over the day before the service and we were able to talk and cry together. Losing a child is I believe, one of the hardest trials we will ever endure. I know her heart is broken and I pray that she can continue to feel of the comfort of Christ every day. I pray we all can.
Kaleb is buried in the Millville cemetery, right across from my grandparents and parents plots. It's a beautiful spot; quiet, serene and peaceful. During the dedication of the grave, Cam blessed that those who are struggling and need inspiration, hope and peace will find it here, talking with Kaleb. I look forward to visiting his grave often. I love him so much and am so excited to meet him someday.
Families are forever.
Last Saturday Loren went into "project mode" and fixed our screen door. I was quite impressed.
Lydia finished up her soccer season by winning her last game! She had such a cute team and had so much fun. It was a great season.
Another project we tackled was organizing the pantry. I really wish I'd taken a before picture because it was a complete mess. Although it's not Pinterest worthy cute, it's organized and that's all that matters. It's been so nice to get that done.
Allie loves feeding the goats on our walks in Avon.
Last Sunday Grandpa Peck took the girls, Loren and I for a ride in his new Jeep. It was really exciting and the girls thought it was better than Lagoon! We flew over potholes, dirt roads and even climbed up a steep hill. Lydia couldn't stop smiling the whole time!
We saw a moose! We turned a corner and there it was just chillin' on the road. I was sure glad we were in a Jeep and not just out walking. It was so cool to be that close!
It's that time of year again and Lydia successfully graduated preschool! We'll really miss going to Teacher Karla's school and having great-grandma there to help too. But Lydia has never been excited for anything more than she is for Kindergarten. So ready or not, here she comes!
It was so nice to have Grandma Peck and Grandma Rigby there. Lydia had a lot of support and I hope she never takes it for granted. We love our family!
I sure love these littles. I'm proud of all they're learning and how much they're growing each day.
