Truth be told, all we did was blink and our baby is walking. I had serious doubts that we would ever reach this milestone because of how cautious lydia is, but just a couple days after her birthday she started taking more and more steps on her own. Before we knew it, we had a little walking baby on our hands. You can tell she's so proud of herself as she struts around, clapping and laughing to everyone.
Loren has had a very exciting and draining couple weeks. He's been involved in the moot court competition and has advanced to the final 8 contestants! Seeing as how it started with 60 people, I am so proud of him! He's been fully immersed in getting ready for this thursday's arguments. We really appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers for him. It means so much and Loren knows that he's had help. We'll keep you updated on how he does Thursday!
I'm still watching Adeline twice a week and it's so fun! Lydia has a lot of fun with her, as long as she's had her nap. I finally snuck some pictures of them last week. Don't mind Lydia's hair... I don't even know.
Cute little things.
Last Thursday Michelle and I took the girls to Roanoke to check out a children's consignment sale. It was amazing! We both spent way too much but it's hard to pass up such amazing deals on clothes and shoes. I got Lydia a winter coat, snowsuit, boots, shoes, an outfit, sweater, a bag of 100 blocks, and a duck game all for $40!! Best day ever. Consignment sales rock my socks.
This past weekend was fall break for Loren so we got some good quality family time in. Friday was when we found out Loren was advancing to the final 8 and we decided to celebrate. We went to Kenny's which is famous for their fried chicken. We took our food to go and went back home and ate it while we watched a good movie. Lydia didn't seem to mind that while she was stuck with cucumbers, cottage cheese and fruit, we gorged down fried chicken, fried scones, curly fries and onion rings. What a good, healthy girl. She definitely felt better after her meal than we did. It was a fun night.
We tried out Lydia's new snowsuit for the first time the other day. It works pretty good!
Grandma and grandpa Peck sent us to the zoo for Lydia's birthday. She had a blast! It was so fun to see her interact witth the animals. Most of the time she'd just stare at them like she had no idea what to think. It was so funny.
Of course we needed a picture in front of the elephant. Can't wait to compare this picture to the one with Loren as a little guy around 20 years ago.
Waving to the flamingos!
Well Lydia woke up from her nap so I guess that means I'm done. We hope you have a wonderful week. Love you all!
