I may be biased but he is the cutest squish. The week before I took this I was really struggling with Jace. He was ridiculously grumpy and would just yell and scream at me all day. Loren and I discovered he was cutting four molars so it made more sense but, wow. Good thing we have these happy moments in between the really hard ones.
Jace insists on taking a million cars in the Weehoo trailer when we go pick up the kids from school. There's been a few times where cars have fallen out of the basket because he's stuffed them so full. Patience, patience, patience.
So Loren and I did a thing. We decided to rip out all the grass on the south side of our house and plant a bunch of berries and prepare a spot for our shed. I had no idea it was so hard to kill grass. Seems like when you're not trying it happens really easy. I don't know how many times Loren had to till but we may be spending quite a bit on chiropractic visits for his back.
Loren would till, I would rake up the grass and put them in bags and then we loaded as much as we could in my parent's truck and took them to the dump. The kids enjoyed riding in the back to keep the bags from flying out after we dumped them. Of course we made our traditional stop at Macy's for ice cream afterwards.
This project turned out to be much bigger than we planned but slowly we're making progress. We picked up two cute little plum trees and hope they make it ok. It's fun to start making our yard more what we want it to be.
We visited my grandma the other day and Jace was so sweet with her. It's one of the highlights of our week.
My parents booked a two week cruise to the Baltic and were gone on Lydia's birthday. Before they left, my mom took Lydia on a special birthday outing. They went up the canyon, explored a center street festival and ate lunch at The Center Street Grill. Lydia is so lucky to have such wonderful grandparents who love her and create lasting memories.
For Lydia's main present this year we gave her a horse ride up Logan Canyon. It was her first time on a horse by herself and she LOVED it. It was so fun to be with just her and Loren up in the beautiful mountains. The fall leaves were at their peak and it was so calm, peaceful and rejuvenating. I love spending time with my girl. Lydia is so sensitive, loving, fun, kind and beautiful. I don't know how I got so lucky to have her as my daughter but I'm eternally grateful. Can't wait for many more years of making memories with this sweet girl.
Cutest cowgirl!
Lydia's horse was named Seth.
Loren led the way on Frisko and I took up the rear with Maverik. So named because he did things his way and didn't care to take the road well traveled. I loved it.
Such a fun birthday memory. Love you, baby girl.
Huge thanks to Mom Peck for watching the kids so we could go. They had an absolute blast in the hot tub.
I've been wanting to ride around the Mantua Lake all summer but never made it. Last week I was able to get Kristen and Mom Peck to come with me. It was a beautiful fall day and so fun to be together.
Love them!
Birthday fun with my family before Mom and Dad left.
The big day finally came! We have an eleven year old! Lydia got a 3d printed dragon, a coin book, a diamond painting kit, Hershey's and piano books. The kids were excited with their own smaller 3d printed dragons. We had French Toast for breakfast and then went to school. Lydia said she had a great day and the highlight was passing out brownies to her class.
After the kids got home we had Mac and Cheese, per Lydia's request, followed by cupcakes.
Then we headed to The American West Heritage Center as per tradition. I asked if she wanted to do something different this year but she was set on the corn maze. We started with the horses and after our horse ride last week, it was a bit underwhelming but the little kids had a blast.
I was surprised that we were practically the only ones there. We had so much fun!
This game was a riot. We spent a lot of time playing 9 square and trying to get Dad out.
Allie and Livy
Everyone had so much fun. The kids on the hay bales and bouncy houses and adults with 9 square, corn hole and checkers. We did the corn maze and luckily made it out in 30 minutes! So grateful for those maps. It turned out to be such a fun night. Sure love this wonderful family. What a perfect birthday.
Jace LOVES this blue track.
Ground cover is down! So much work but excited to start planting our berries!
