We love having Firefly park so close to us. It's one of our favorites! Jace especially loves playing hide and seek in the log.
Mom Peck got us all Lagoon tickets! We had a blast. It was Hudson's first time and I wasn't sure how he'd do on the rides but he loved it! It took some convincing to get him on Bombora but he ended up going two more times after that. He said his favorite rides were the airplanes with the real water and the car ride. He keeps asking when we can go back.
Loren and I split between riding with Hudson on the kiddy rides and the girls riding the big kid rides. Our stamina is definitely not what it used to be. I can do about each big ride once and I'm done. It's hard to keep up with our little thrill seekers. Allie officially graduated to the big kid rides and loved every minute of it. The first ride we went on was Cannibal and I questioned my decision to bring her when she started crying on the elevator up to the top. Once we finished, she looked and me and said, "Let's go again!" Apparently it was her favorite ride, go figure. She also rode the Rocket, Wicked, Colossus, Spider and more with Lydia and Atticus. She was such a fun little riding buddy! Lydia loved everything too. What a fun day! Thanks to mom for making it all possible and for my mom watching Jace all day for us.
We went on Puff the Magic Dragon three times.
Hudson absolutely loves preschool. He learns and is able to do so many fun things.
Loren's been really busy preparing for two trials in November so one evening my dad took us all to dinner at Sabores. It was so nice and the kids were over the moon to be eating at a restaurant. I love my parents more than I can describe. They're my safe place and I'm so grateful they're always there for me. We enjoyed Aggie Ice Cream and a drive up to canyon to see the fall leaves afterwards. Such a fun and rejuvenating evening.
Lydia turned ten years old. TEN. The older she gets the faster the years go by it seems. Lydia is such a sweet, kind, smart, happy and beautiful girl. She's grown into the daughter I always dreamed I'd have. I love her more than words! Here's her birthday list she made. She's really into Bob Ross right now.
We celebrated with my family a few days early and played the sign game, memory and the drawing game. All were games I played while growing up during family home evenings. It was fun to play them with my siblings again!
Lydia got art supplies, an easel and the Warriors book series. We had Lucky Charms and cinnamon rolls for breakfast.
Later that evening we went to the American West Heritage Center. It had been raining all day so we had the whole place to ourselves. We had fun on the horses and train.
We had Nathan, Lexie and their family, Atticus and Chris and Grandpa Peck with us. Jace loved the corn maze!
The kids had a couple days off school for parent teacher conferences so Kristen and I took them to the Rock and Gem show and then Great Harvest. Lydia and Atticus were enthralled by the rocks, the little kids not so much.
For my birthday I told Loren I wanted to go on a horse ride but wanted to wait until October so I could enjoy the fall leaves. Last weekend my mom and I finally went and it was amazing. It was a 90 minute ride and we went through rivers, meadows, and up and down a mountain. The scenery was absolutely stunning! It was such a beautiful and fun day and totally worth the very sore muscles.
Mom Peck gave me a great idea. When the girls get home from school they usually eat their weight in crackers and snacks and are too full for dinner. I've started having dinner ready at 4 when they get home and then a small snack before bed. I can't believe I never thought about before.
