The End of Summer

Loren had the amazing opportunity to go with his dad, brothers and uncles to Alaska. They stayed at a really nice resort and had amazing food and experiences. They caught lots of fish and kayaked to a glacier. Loren had a great time and I'm glad he was able to make fun memories.

We have so many geckos around the house now. The girls have LOVED making them!

We went to the fair with Kristen, her kids and Maddy.

The kids had fun making creative crafts.

We love Aggie Ice Cream!

Lydia had her last cross country race and ran a new personal record of 8:32! She took two whole minutes off her time. I'm so proud of her and she had a lot of fun.

This is Allie's all time favorite dress right now.

Lydia made this pirate ship all by herself.

Lydia had her end of summer recital at a convalescent home in Providence. She did beautifully!

The first day of school came really fast this year. I definitely wasn't ready but the girls sure were. Allie's so excited to be going all day and getting to eat lunch at school. She has Mrs. Nelson and really likes her class so far.

Lydia is ready for fourth grade! She has Mrs. Pruden and is excited to see her friends again and go to the library every day.

Trout and Berry Days parade with Grandpa driving a tractor.

It's been really different just having the boys home during the day. We went to the zoo and aside from the ducks, wasn't a whole lot to see. We were in and out in like 30 minutes. On our way to the car we saw these guys cutting down a tree. We stayed and watched them longer than we spent in the zoo.

I love that the girls get to go to school with their cousins.

Jace is 14 months now! He is getting into everything and I spend most my day keeping him alive and the house from being torn apart. He's babbling and pointing, says "mom", and crawls as fast as lightening. He's not walking quite yet but I'm thinking in the next few weeks he'll get there. He's such a fun little squish!

I was eating breakfast and Hudson moves his chair riiiight next to me. This kid sticks to me like glue when the girls are gone.

Hudson started preschool with Ms Liz! He's been so excited to have school with Max. He goes three days a week and it's been perfect. He loves everything about it.

Mom Peck was so nice in helping me do my peaches again this year. And I had a perfect shirt to wear!

Lydia found a praying mantis outside. Dad surprised her by bringing home a huge terrarium with everything they'd need to put inside it. They spent the rest of the evening setting it all up. It turned out amazing and it's been fun to have a little pet. The kids are lucky to have such a fun dad.

Every time we go to Avon, Hudson begs Grandpa to take him on a tractor ride. Hudson finally got his wish and was in heaven! We weren't sure how Jace would react but he didn't want to get off. These boys love their rides with Grandpa!

Home Again!

The end of another school year is here and with it brings our cross country road trip to Utah. Yay! We planned our trip two months in advance because my dad needed time to book our hotels. At the time, it seemed like common sense to leave right after Loren's last final on Thursday. I mean, what did we have to wait around for? The sooner the better!    Fast forward a week before we were to leave, I was seriously questioning our decision making abilities. Why didn't we just wait to leave on Friday so Loren could help me pack and finish cleaning? I still had a million things to do and couldn't get any of it done with Lydia wanting my attention. Loren was busy studying for finals and I felt guilty asking him for any help. What the blazes were we thinking?! It was a stressful time, to say the least.    One morning we woke to sirens and fire engines blaring. The visitors center had caught on fire! There was smoke everywhere and we spent the rest of the mornin...

"Grandma and Grandpa- Fun!"

One thing i've really missed while being in Virginia is going to our siblings competitions and events. It's been so fun to be able to see them all in action this month.    Todd and Brendan were both involved in a debate competition. I was really impressed with how well they did, it's a scary thing but they did great!   The Wellsville mile is one of my favorite events of the year. It seems like theres more kids every time and they keep getting faster. We were so proud of Todd and Brendan, they both ran personal best times. Lydia had a blast watching all the kids, she wanted to run with them! Todd's enterauge. Emily and her friends were able to run with him. Great job boys!   This girl has amazed me with her dancing. She's grown so much from last year and is such a gorgeous dancer. It's so much fun to watch her. We went to her end of year dance performance and had a great time. Thank goodness for Loren, he's the only one who remembers to camera to take pictu...

Thanksgiving Bash!.. and Crash

I have to say, this past week has been the most fun and exhausting week we've had in a long time.  But before we get into that, we had our first snowfall a couple weeks ago.  Lydia was DYING to make a snowman so daddy went out and helped her make one. They had a blast!   Here's some of Lydia's school papers.    The weekend before Thanksgiving our basement flooded.  One of the tubes that hook onto the gutter was pointed directly towards our house instead of away.  Thus, we had water in our family room and the unfinished room.  It kept coming in for two days.  About every 10 minutes we had to suck up the water on the first day, then about every hour on the second.  I think we have learned our lesson and plan on digging trenches to make a more efficient drainage system.  Thanks to everyone who helped! No permanent damage was done and we're so grateful.   Loren had a guys night with his...
