Under Contract!

After three months of searching for a home we finally put one under contract! The fourth offer must be a charm. What an exhausting roller coaster of a ride it's been. For what the market is right now, we're very happy with our offer and the kind of house that it is. We love the layout, the beautiful kitchen and spacious backyard. Although we'll outgrow it in a few years, it will be a great place to settle down for awhile. We close on October 13th and though we're thrilled at the thought of moving in, the actual moving in part is pretty daunting. I have zero desire to move everything again but it must be done I suppose. My sister Mary, whose an interior designer, has been helping me with floor plans and ideas for furniture. We're excited to make it our own!

My mom and I took Hudson and Allie to the Zoo one morning. Hudson's favorite animal was the ducks. They followed us everywhere and he couldn't get enough of them. What a fun morning.

Allie's first day of preschool picture! Or second first day of preschool picture. She was very excited! She goes Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Liz and I have the same deal from last year, I watch Max and Hudson and she gives Allie free school. I feel like I'm definitely getting the better end of the deal.

With the help of Mom and Grandma Swan we bottled 32 quarts of beautiful peaches! I'm seriously so grateful for their help every year.

Dentist appointment for the girls. No cavities, yay!

Loren had to pick something up in Ogden so we decided to make a day of it and visit the SeaQuest Aquarium in Layton afterwards. It was surprised at how fun it was! You could touch and feed many of the fish, it was really interactive. We loved having Aaron with us too.

 Cuties!

This was my favorite exhibit. You put your hands in the water and a million little fish came and nibbled your skin. It was so wild.

Labor Day was really fun this year. My mom and I took the girls on a hike up Logan Canyon in the morning. We didn't make it all the way but it was really nice to be out in nature.

In the afternoon Lindsay gave Maddy and I beautiful Henna tattoos and we dyed our hair red. I was in love! She's seriously so talented. It was a perfect girls afternoon.

Getting both Max and Hudson to smile and look at the camera at the same time is pretty much impossible. They've been having a lot of fun together during preschool. I bring them out to Avon twice a week and then to my mom's once a week. I told them not to get used to going to different homes everyday. Before they know it it's going to be just our house and not nearly as fun as new toys and scenery everyday.

Loren had a wonderful opportunity to freshen up his tire replacing skills the other day. We ended up having to get four new tires for the car. Yeeeouch.

My mom had a Grandma day with Lydia. She picked her up from school and they spent the day up the canyon having a picnic and exploring. Again, I feel so so blessed with such incredible family who helps raise my kids.

We love our Sunday night walks in Avon.

These two wanted to hold hands the whole way home. That was new but I'm here for it.

Fun park in Paradise we like to go to.

Tis the season for the salmon run up Porcupine Dam. Loren, Landon and Aaron biked up while Dad, Mom and I drove the kids up.

It's so incredible to see the salmon work so hard to get upstream. I couldn't believe how many there were.

It was such a gorgeous and peaceful night.

 The two amigos.

Lydia's being baptized in two weeks! We went up the the temple with Kristen to take pictures in her baptism dress. I get so emotional thinking about her baptism. I always thought it was cheesy when people said to enjoy your time with your young kids because before you know it, they'll be grown up. This is exactly how I feel lately with Lydia. Where did those eight years go?? I'm so proud of the choices she's making and how beautiful she is inside and out.

  Allie's preschool shenanigans.

My mom, Lydia and I went to The Sound of Music at the Ellen Eccles Theatre. What a fun night together!

We spent the evening at Merlin Olsen Park and got soaked. Should have brought Hudson's swimsuit.

Whenever we can't find Hudson we go straight to Landon's room. He's obsessed with his big cranes and cars. Landon is so patient and kind to let him play.

Nate, Brayden and I went on a bike ride up South Canyon one evening. There is nothing better than riding up that canyon in the fall. It was so beautiful and was even better being with my brothers. Sure love them. We live in the most beautiful place!

Home Again!

The end of another school year is here and with it brings our cross country road trip to Utah. Yay! We planned our trip two months in advance because my dad needed time to book our hotels. At the time, it seemed like common sense to leave right after Loren's last final on Thursday. I mean, what did we have to wait around for? The sooner the better!    Fast forward a week before we were to leave, I was seriously questioning our decision making abilities. Why didn't we just wait to leave on Friday so Loren could help me pack and finish cleaning? I still had a million things to do and couldn't get any of it done with Lydia wanting my attention. Loren was busy studying for finals and I felt guilty asking him for any help. What the blazes were we thinking?! It was a stressful time, to say the least.    One morning we woke to sirens and fire engines blaring. The visitors center had caught on fire! There was smoke everywhere and we spent the rest of the mornin...

"Grandma and Grandpa- Fun!"

One thing i've really missed while being in Virginia is going to our siblings competitions and events. It's been so fun to be able to see them all in action this month.    Todd and Brendan were both involved in a debate competition. I was really impressed with how well they did, it's a scary thing but they did great!   The Wellsville mile is one of my favorite events of the year. It seems like theres more kids every time and they keep getting faster. We were so proud of Todd and Brendan, they both ran personal best times. Lydia had a blast watching all the kids, she wanted to run with them! Todd's enterauge. Emily and her friends were able to run with him. Great job boys!   This girl has amazed me with her dancing. She's grown so much from last year and is such a gorgeous dancer. It's so much fun to watch her. We went to her end of year dance performance and had a great time. Thank goodness for Loren, he's the only one who remembers to camera to take pictu...

Thanksgiving Bash!.. and Crash

I have to say, this past week has been the most fun and exhausting week we've had in a long time.  But before we get into that, we had our first snowfall a couple weeks ago.  Lydia was DYING to make a snowman so daddy went out and helped her make one. They had a blast!   Here's some of Lydia's school papers.    The weekend before Thanksgiving our basement flooded.  One of the tubes that hook onto the gutter was pointed directly towards our house instead of away.  Thus, we had water in our family room and the unfinished room.  It kept coming in for two days.  About every 10 minutes we had to suck up the water on the first day, then about every hour on the second.  I think we have learned our lesson and plan on digging trenches to make a more efficient drainage system.  Thanks to everyone who helped! No permanent damage was done and we're so grateful.   Loren had a guys night with his...
