I've been putting off updating because there's so much! It's hard to believe summer is gone. We had such a fun last month. The house search continues for Loren and I. We've looked at over 20 homes and made three offers but always came out in second place. Unfortunately, the silver medal doesn't get you much in a home offer. So we'll keep looking and keep our spirits up. We find comfort in the fact that the Lord is in charge and we know we're doing what we felt prompted to do. We've been so very grateful for Mom and Dad Peck's patience and sacrifice for us during this time.
We went to Porcupine Dam for Chris' birthday. The water was super low and was quite a trek to get down to it. Loren and I got our 50,000 steps in carrying Hudson up and down the hill. We had tasty hot dogs and had fun watching the boys kayak.
Loren had a great last hurrah with the Young Men in our Nibley ward on their high adventure camp up at Redfish Lake. He said it was beautiful and they all had a great time fishing, swimming and rock climbing.
We love hanging out at the park up Blacksmith Fork canyon. I like it because of how shady it is and the kids love the stream. Win-win.
Charlie's Angelversary. Five years. We certainly do miss him.
For my birthday Loren made me breakfast in bed. It was so delicious!
This chocolate mousse cake was possibly the best thing ever. We had Brayden and Todd over since mom and dad were on their cruise to Alaska. We had fun watching the Olympics and eating delicious cake. Perfect day!
My mom gave me an Instant Pot and it's saved my bacon! I love it so much and am happy I finally can jump on the bandwagon.
The girls have been so creative lately and I'm here for it. They put on a play about some sea animals that became friends. They even colored at sea floor background and everything. I tried hard to take it all in and remember these girls exactly as they are right now. I wished I could bottle up that moment and keep it with me always. How I wish they could stay this young forever.
Lydia made her own museum! She even wrote some cool facts about each of her exhibits. This was the dog exhibit. It says, "Dogs can be trained to do many things. Dogs can even help blind people or deaf people. Dogs can even be in a war!"
Whale exhibit
Horse exhibit
Homemade experiments
My sister Mary made this cake for Greyson's birthday. I'm speechless.
The Peck Hadfield office party was awesome, I won a 90 minute massage! Wahoo!
We had my family reunion the first weekend in August. It was so much fun!
This recreation turned out fabulous, don't you think? Even Nate's stone faced expression.
On Friday we went to the Hyrum Cemetery to learn about some ancestors. Afterwards we went to the Temple so the kids could touch it. I'm so grateful for my mom and her testimony.
Later we went up Blacksmith Fork Canyon to the Hyrum City Park. We had a blast playing games and putting together skits.
The next day we went to Bear Lake! My dad rented a couple jet skis and we had a blast riding them and a kayak around the lake. I loved taking the girls on the jet skis. Allie told me to go as fast as I could. That girls isn't afraid of anything! We had such a fun and relaxing time together.
The next weekend we packed up our suitcases and drove to the Homestead resort in Midway for more fun with the Swan's. We started out with a swim in the crater. The water was so warm and deep blue. Hudson was a little hesitant at first but got the hang of it after a bit.
Pokemon is the big thing with the kids right now. They all have their own binders and love to trade cards. Even Allie talked us into getting her one and she loves to get in on the fun. Grandma Swan brought Pokemon cards to give out when the kids were doing good things. It worked really well.
Hudson just preferred to play with his cars in the dirt.
We're so grateful Grandpa Swan was able to come as he took a bad fall the day before. Grandma Swan is amazing for all she did to put together such a fun vacation. Love them so much!
Mom Peck paid for the older kids to ride the Comedy Mystery train ride at the Heber Railroad. She's an angel for watching all six kids while we were gone. We had such a fun time!
We traveled twenty miles up the canyon and passed Lindsay's restaurant. Then we turned around and came back. It took about two hours.
The actors would come and do their part while we had to guess who was the murderer. It was really entertaining!
While we were on the train the kids were having a blast playing on the playground and making sock puppets.
The next and last morning we woke up and had a devotional and then took pictures. Thanks to Grandma and everyone else who helped us to make some amazing memories! It was such a fun time we'll remember forever.
We decided we might as well pack in all the fun possible so we went to Lagoon two days before school started with Maddy, Aaron and Chris and Kristen's family. My mom was so sweet to take Hudson for the day. Allie surprised me so much, she wasn't afraid of anything! She kept her hands up on all the rides. It was so fun to see. The lines weren't long at all so we went on everything we wanted and more. Lydia went on Cannibal again and did all the big kid rides except for Wicked. We had an awesome day.
The crew! Minus Loren.
I put off getting my second Covid vaccine as long as I could. But after three months I decided I should probably go get it. My arm swelled up again and I had a terrible headache with chills and body aches. The same day Loren came down with really bad sinus congestion. We were both pretty miserable for a few days. It's been a week and half and we're both still battling a bit of congestion and coughs. No fun.
Lydia's first day of second grade! She's going to Canyon Elementary with Aaron. She was nervous to start a new school. I hope the transition isn't too rough.
Off to catch the bus.
The weekend we were really sick a member of the Seventy was coming to have dinner in Avon. We didn't want to get anyone sick so we took some cold cereal and had dinner at Stokes Nature Center. The kids thought it was the best thing ever and it was so nice to be out in nature soaking up a beautiful day.
Happy birthday to my dad! I don't want to think of life without him. I love him more than anything. We got him a digital picture frame so now all his kids can upload pictures and he can see what we're up to.
Another year, another Trout and Berry Days parade.
Aaron and Grandpa on the tractor!
I was so impressed with these girls! Allie made it up about halfway and Lydia made it up the whole way on the medium hard side. Great job! They spent the rest of the day on the inflatables and other activities.
The girls love their little cousin, Tessa.
Fall is in the air!
