Fast and Furious

There's a lot to catch up on! I didn't realize how many pictures I actually had until I started going through them. Allie and Lydia have two more weeks of school before Summer vacation! This year has gone so fast.

Her class went to a farm to see the cows, goats and chickens.

This soccer season was fast and furious. It lasted a little over a month and we had practice or games Monday through Thursday evenings. It was a little crazy sometimes but I'm so glad I was able to coach Lydia this year. It was really fun for me and I'm really proud of how much my team progressed this season.

It took me way too long to figure out how I was supposed to give each player the same amount of playing time with a chance to play at different positions while subbing every five minutes. There was one quarter that one player was just going to get an extra five minutes to play, so of course I put Lydia in. Perks of being a coach.

After one of Lydia's games we went across the field to watch Bubba's game. He did so great and it was fun to be able to watch him.

Loren deserves the MVP award this season. He spent most of the games chasing Hudson all over the place. They usually ended up at this little park.

Work on the chair is still going strong!

These two little boys wear themselves out playing with cars and chasing each other around on the tramp.

Our stake put on a yard sale to benefit a two year old boy going though cancer. It was amazing the amount of things that were donated. We came away with a mountain bike for Lydia, scooters for the girls, roller blades, a little drum set, a bunch of clothes and Lightening MacQueen cars for Hudson. Everyone was really happy with our finds!

The girls love our new climbing dome.

Isn't this beautiful? Loren fixed our sprinkler wires and had to take a pic of his awesome job!

  More preschool.

My sweet Grandma Gardner. How I love her.

Lydia improved a lot this season. She scored two goals this game!

Of course Hudson and Allie thought it was much more fun to explore than to watch the games.

 "Kick it THAT way, Jorgen!"

Nate and Brayden came to watch a game and actually got Hudson to sit still by feeding him yummy snacks and wrestling him when he did get up. It was so fun to have them there.

At quiet time I told Allie I was going to take a rest on the couch. When I woke up I found Allie asleep on the floor on her own little bed right beside mine.

It's so ironic how most of the day I'm hearing "I'm bored" and "I'm hungry" and tantrums about who knows what. But as soon as it's time for bed, everyone is magically playing happily together and leaving me alone. Such is motherhood.

We got to use Lydia's Yogurtland coupon for winning the reading competition at school. It was sooo yummy!

Loren and Allie had fun together at her soccer practices.

Allie's birthday poster she made for school.

Loren went on a campout with the Young Men.

The Parent Game was super fun! The kids thought it was hilarious to try and beat their parents.

I took pictures of our team. Here's Elena.

Allie wrote this for me for Mothers Day.

Chris sanding the chair.

This is going in his wedding video.

I came down one morning to find Lydia reading all of Mom Peck's new story she wrote about Brendan. It led to a lot of questions about what life was like for him and for Grandma. I'm so grateful she writes stories to keep him always alive in our hearts.

Allie's new Kiwi Box was wind theme. She made a wind car and had a blast making it go with her fan.

I was in my mom's bathroom the other day and had to snap this photo. Growing up she always had handwritten quotes or uplifting messages all over the house. I love that she still does.

Cam and Mary came up a couple weekends ago and it was so fun to hang out with them.

We hardly saw the kids all day as they played and played.

On May 5th it was Kaleb's two year Angelversary. We were so grateful to go to the cemetery and remember him. I'm so grateful for supportive and loving families who have each other to go through the ups and very down's of life.

These guys are the best. You wouldn't believe the fun they have together making those chairs. They think they're pretty funny with their jokes about shaved legs and round bottoms.

Can you believe this card from Lydia for Mothers Days? My eyes shed more than a few tears. I have the sweetest kids.

Allie finished up her soccer season with a game. She scored two goals and was on fire! That's my girl!

Another picture of my Grandma. I wish I could go see her!

Todd and his date, Emalee. She made her own dress! They looked pretty cute and I'm sure Todd was thrilled to have all the family over except Cam and Mary when his date came.

Our 16 rows of peas! I give all the credit to Loren for making this happen. He planted them and has weeded them all on his own. I think I'm going to feel like the cat in the Little Red Hen story, never helps but reaps the benefits. It's so fun to see how happy these make him.

The kids have loved finding rolly polly bugs and putting them in this bug home. Lydia changes their water and gives them food everyday.

Em, Tyson and Lucy were able to come up last weekend and we had a party! We enjoyed a walk on the Logan River Trail and of course the girls wanted lots of pictures taken.

We're getting ready to officially welcome summer and we can't wait!

Home Again!

The end of another school year is here and with it brings our cross country road trip to Utah. Yay! We planned our trip two months in advance because my dad needed time to book our hotels. At the time, it seemed like common sense to leave right after Loren's last final on Thursday. I mean, what did we have to wait around for? The sooner the better!    Fast forward a week before we were to leave, I was seriously questioning our decision making abilities. Why didn't we just wait to leave on Friday so Loren could help me pack and finish cleaning? I still had a million things to do and couldn't get any of it done with Lydia wanting my attention. Loren was busy studying for finals and I felt guilty asking him for any help. What the blazes were we thinking?! It was a stressful time, to say the least.    One morning we woke to sirens and fire engines blaring. The visitors center had caught on fire! There was smoke everywhere and we spent the rest of the mornin...

"Grandma and Grandpa- Fun!"

One thing i've really missed while being in Virginia is going to our siblings competitions and events. It's been so fun to be able to see them all in action this month.    Todd and Brendan were both involved in a debate competition. I was really impressed with how well they did, it's a scary thing but they did great!   The Wellsville mile is one of my favorite events of the year. It seems like theres more kids every time and they keep getting faster. We were so proud of Todd and Brendan, they both ran personal best times. Lydia had a blast watching all the kids, she wanted to run with them! Todd's enterauge. Emily and her friends were able to run with him. Great job boys!   This girl has amazed me with her dancing. She's grown so much from last year and is such a gorgeous dancer. It's so much fun to watch her. We went to her end of year dance performance and had a great time. Thank goodness for Loren, he's the only one who remembers to camera to take pictu...

Thanksgiving Bash!.. and Crash

I have to say, this past week has been the most fun and exhausting week we've had in a long time.  But before we get into that, we had our first snowfall a couple weeks ago.  Lydia was DYING to make a snowman so daddy went out and helped her make one. They had a blast!   Here's some of Lydia's school papers.    The weekend before Thanksgiving our basement flooded.  One of the tubes that hook onto the gutter was pointed directly towards our house instead of away.  Thus, we had water in our family room and the unfinished room.  It kept coming in for two days.  About every 10 minutes we had to suck up the water on the first day, then about every hour on the second.  I think we have learned our lesson and plan on digging trenches to make a more efficient drainage system.  Thanks to everyone who helped! No permanent damage was done and we're so grateful.   Loren had a guys night with his...
