Lydia is Seven

Allie is really enjoying preschool. Her favorite things about it are recess, snacks and playing with friends Beazley and Charlie.

  Hudson loves his uncle Brayden.

There was the most gorgeous sunset the other night. I've never seen rays quite like it before. Beautiful!

The other day during my Walmart grocery pickup, I was given three bags of groceries that weren't mine. Apparently when that happens they tell you to keep it. Although I felt bad for whoever the groceries were for, those Reese's sure made my day.

This kid doesn't go anywhere without his pillow. Normally kids drag around a blanket but Hudson's favorite thing is his pillow. We end up changing his pillow case 2-3 times a day because it get's so dirty. What can you do? When you love it, you love it.

Hudson is getting a little bit better with Max. I've started putting him in his room when he hits and he's usually ok after that. Their favorite thing to do is chase each other around the bar in the kitchen. It's pretty hilarious to watch.

Loren and I may have shed a tear after finding these sweet notes from Lydia. This one says, "About Ally: Ally I love you every day even when I'm gone at school".

"About Mom: I miss you sometimes but I know you will always be with me."

"About Loren: I love you and I know that you're the best." We're so blessed to have such a sweet girl.

It's really rare that I get Hudson to sit long enough for me to take a picture so I was really happy about this one. What a cute little squish! I'm actually grateful I have this because the other morning he got into the brown sugar, egg noddles, toothpaste, oatmeal and toilet all before I took Lydia to school. It's good to remember how cute he is.

This was Engineer day at preschool.

I've never given Hudson a haircut and it was getting pretty long. Actually I've never given a haircut period. I think I may have tried a long time ago with Loren's hair but Mom Peck was watching closely nearby. I figured it was now or never so I dug out the clippers and got to work. It was pretty rough at first, I chose the wrong size clippers, but I was able to salvage it ok. I definitely learned a lot and hopefully I'll keep getting better. Hudson thought it was hilarious and giggled every time I moved the clippers up his neck. Silly boy.

Chris and Kristen are having a girl in March! We're so excited for them!

Lydia was so excited for her birthday. She made this schedule for her day.

Happy Birthday to Lydia! Can't believe my baby is seven years old. Time really does fly. She got all 27 book in the Magic Treehouse Merlin Mission series and a 3 in 1 Lego Amusement park set.

Lydia's birthday landed on Conference this year. She was a little bummed at first, for how would she get to do all the things on her schedule?? But Grandma Rigby saved the day by bringing all sorts of fun stickers, personalized books, coloring pages, bingo and puzzles to do during Conference. She has the BEST grandparents.
After the first session we took a family bike ride to Lydia's school and played on the playground. She showed us all the things she likes to do at recess. It was fun to finally understand what the "twisty" and "twirly" are.
After the next session we headed off for the corn maze at Little Bear Bottoms. Mom and Dad Peck, Aaron, Maddy and Daniel, Chris and Kristen and Lexie and Nathan were able to come. It was such a beautiful afternoon and after a spooky walk through the haunted trail, we headed into the corn maze. Actually it was more like a weed maze as we all came out with stickers and weeds in our shoes, clothes and hair. Maybe next time we'll try the Historical Farm. Lydia had a blast though so that's all that matters.

The next morning we headed out to Avon for traditional Conference morning Norskies! We all commented on how strange it was that Landon wasn't there. Hopefully he was able to make some for he and his companions. It was delicious as always!

Conference with the kids was a little crazy but also so nice to all be together.

Then we celebrated Lindsay's birthday! She's the most beautiful 21 year old there ever was. We sure love her and hope she knows it.

After that we went to Grandma Rigby's for another party! Lydia picked out bright neon pink frosting for her cake, it was very exciting. Grandma made some yummy food and we had fun catching up with each other.

It was a beautiful afternoon so we had to go for a walk. On the way we ran into Nate who was just making it back from the airport. He flies to Arizona every other week to be with Kiana whose going to school. It was so good to see him.

This is one of the rides Lydia made with her Lego set. So fun and it really spins! Loren and I had fun with it after the kids had gone to bed. You're never too old to play with Legos!

Allie's third Kiwi box came and this time is was Rainforest themed. She made a cute caterpillar that turns into a Butterly and a rainstick/tree game. We love our Kiwi boxes! Lydia's so excited for hers to come.

Last night Maddy and I went to a Citrus Pear class. We made 20 freezer meals in about two hours! I'm really excited for them because my dinners have been pretty sad as of late. I love that these are healthy and so easy to just throw in the crockpot. It was so fun to go with Maddy and have ourselves a genuine girls night out, complete with Coldstone ice cream afterwards. Such a fun evening!

Home Again!

The end of another school year is here and with it brings our cross country road trip to Utah. Yay! We planned our trip two months in advance because my dad needed time to book our hotels. At the time, it seemed like common sense to leave right after Loren's last final on Thursday. I mean, what did we have to wait around for? The sooner the better!    Fast forward a week before we were to leave, I was seriously questioning our decision making abilities. Why didn't we just wait to leave on Friday so Loren could help me pack and finish cleaning? I still had a million things to do and couldn't get any of it done with Lydia wanting my attention. Loren was busy studying for finals and I felt guilty asking him for any help. What the blazes were we thinking?! It was a stressful time, to say the least.    One morning we woke to sirens and fire engines blaring. The visitors center had caught on fire! There was smoke everywhere and we spent the rest of the mornin...

"Grandma and Grandpa- Fun!"

One thing i've really missed while being in Virginia is going to our siblings competitions and events. It's been so fun to be able to see them all in action this month.    Todd and Brendan were both involved in a debate competition. I was really impressed with how well they did, it's a scary thing but they did great!   The Wellsville mile is one of my favorite events of the year. It seems like theres more kids every time and they keep getting faster. We were so proud of Todd and Brendan, they both ran personal best times. Lydia had a blast watching all the kids, she wanted to run with them! Todd's enterauge. Emily and her friends were able to run with him. Great job boys!   This girl has amazed me with her dancing. She's grown so much from last year and is such a gorgeous dancer. It's so much fun to watch her. We went to her end of year dance performance and had a great time. Thank goodness for Loren, he's the only one who remembers to camera to take pictu...

Thanksgiving Bash!.. and Crash

I have to say, this past week has been the most fun and exhausting week we've had in a long time.  But before we get into that, we had our first snowfall a couple weeks ago.  Lydia was DYING to make a snowman so daddy went out and helped her make one. They had a blast!   Here's some of Lydia's school papers.    The weekend before Thanksgiving our basement flooded.  One of the tubes that hook onto the gutter was pointed directly towards our house instead of away.  Thus, we had water in our family room and the unfinished room.  It kept coming in for two days.  About every 10 minutes we had to suck up the water on the first day, then about every hour on the second.  I think we have learned our lesson and plan on digging trenches to make a more efficient drainage system.  Thanks to everyone who helped! No permanent damage was done and we're so grateful.   Loren had a guys night with his...
