It's getting harder to remember what life was like before Covid-19. Going to church, the library or even a park seems like a distant memory. I'm looking forward to the day I can go to the store without feeling stress and feeling like I have to justify everything I put in my cart. Is it OK that I have two canisters of oats? Is that hoarding? Should I leave one for someone else? If I do I'll have to come back next week and we aren't supposed to go often.. and on and on. We've been encouraged to wear masks out in public now. It's so surreal.
A typical day goes something like this:
8:00 am: work out... sometimes, if Hudson let's me
9:00 am: school for Lydia (videos and worksheets)
11:00 am: walk to the school to get lunches for the kids
1pm: Quiet time (while Hudson takes a nap, girls are in their room reading quietly, playing their games, or resting in their beds for one hour. When the hour is up they may find something in the activity closet like coloring, or paint by sticker books to do until Hudson wakes up.)
3pm: Free play (outside, inside)
4pm: watch a show
5pm: check the clock every five minutes and wonder if I can really make it one more hour. Send texts to Loren asking when he's planning on being home. Trying to be supportive but really wanting to tell him to come NOW and take your children. Get dinner ready while simultaneously pushing Hudson in the swing, playing soccer with Lydia and giving Allie a thumbs up for every "rolly polly" bug she finds.
6pm: Loren's home! Eat dinner, kids play cops and robbers with daddy. Piano practice for Lydia and Allie while Hudson takes a bath. Sometimes kids play a video game with daddy.
7:30pm: Bedtime for kids
8pm: Pass out on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and watch as many Gilmore Girl episodes as I can before I can't keep my eyes open anymore. Try to psych myself up for the exact same thing to happen tomorrow.
I thought this meme summarizes my life perfectly right now.
I guess Lydia is getting more out of our scripture studies than I thought...
I really love these moments.
The kids all LOVE Brayden!
We didn't win but we still got a few gift cards for the Hopstacle course. So I think it was worth it. Our grass is still trying to recover after having those boards on it for so long.
Last Sunday we went for a little adventure at Second Dam. The kids were in heaven! Nature is so healing.
Nibley keeps saying we'll still have a soccer season but I'm having my doubts. They dropped this "Pre-season" soccer kit off complete with a ball and a bunch of drills to practice. We'll see if Lydia actually get's to play this year. I sure hope so!
I'm starting to get sick of all the Covid memes but this one made me laugh so hard I cried. My parents are getting my grandparents groceries so it was pretty humorous to me.
Our Hudson squish is walking! He took his first step this past week and is so proud of himself. He's growing so fast and has such a fun personality. He can say "wow", "hi" "nanna" "momma" and "dadda". He loves his sisters and his sisters spoil him. Even though being quarantined with a 13 month old is exhausting, I couldn't imagine life without this cutie.
Lydia took this picture while talking to her cousin, Atticus. She's enjoyed talking to Greyson this past week too. We miss our cousins!
Lydia got creative and built a fort outside. Pretty impressive!
"When I was a baby I couldn't do this, but now I can! It's very dangerous so only I can do it." -Allison
I got creative yesterday and made bubble foam. Turned out to be a hit! I think we'll do it again today. Just need to get Hudson to stop eating it.
