Loren and I have loved going cross country skiing with Dad Peck on Saturdays. It's so nice to be out in nature and also a killer workout. It's been fun to find something that we both love to do.
The girls were so excited to have a sleepover at Grandma Peck's last Friday night. Every time we leave Avon Lydia cries and asks why we can't have a sleepover. Grandma finally made it happen and they couldn't have been more happy. They had a blast eating dinner and watching a movie. Here's Allie all ready to go! I put their hair in curlers because we had the Princess Party put on by the Family Place bright and early the next morning. I took Lydia last year and we had a blast so we decided to continue the tradition with both girls this year.
Kristen was so sweet and went out early to Avon to do the girls' hair and take pictures of them. They looked so beautiful! Of course Allie requested hair like Elsa.
This one is growing WAY too fast.
The girls learned an Island dance at Moana's station.
Then made paper volcanoes.
I was surprised when Lydia told me her favorite princess there was Merida. She was really sweet and made the girls laugh.
Allie was totally enthralled with Cinderella.
I couldn't even get her to look at me.
They had no idea who Princess Lea was but they really liked the lightsabers.
Side note for next year: no matter how cute they look, don't put jewels in their hair! It's not worth the screaming, crying and hair ripping to get them out.
Next was snack time! It was so fun to have Daddy with us. He's been SO busy with trial prep but it meant a lot to us that he was there.
The girls' favorite part was the dancing at the end. Elsa led all the little princesses in "Into the Unknown" and it was legit. So fun to watch!
I was talking to a mom there who said her seven year old wanted it to be her last year. I had a complete panic attack knowing we don't have many years left before Lydia's too "old" to go to these things. It broke my heart. I'm definitely not ready for my little girl to graduate to big girl.
We had such a fun and memorable Princess Party. I sure love my princesses and hope they never forget these wonderful moments of childhood.
