Family Time is the Best Time

We finally picked the Tahoe up from Hyrum Tire after it sat there for two months. The minute after I posted it on the classifieds it was sold. So we said goodbye with not too many tears shed.

Living on a cul-e-sac is the best for bike riding.

There's hardly a day that goes by that we don't have eight kids running around the house. The girls certainly don't have a shortage of neighborhood friends.

Lydia loves her "Hud Bud" as she calls him.

My Uncle Bruce just bought a cabin in Bear Lake and was kind enough to let my family use it for our reunion this year. It was amazing! Even better was the fact that everyone was able to be there. Cam and Mary moved to Seattle for the summer, Nate and Kiana are getting ready to move to Phoenix, and Em and Tyson live in Saint George. With all that happening, it was so great to be together. Nate and Kiana were in charge this year and made it so fun.

  The views were incredible!

The cabin on the left is for sale for only $800,000. It's tempting.

Friday morning Brayden opened his mission call. He's going to Brazil! I can't say the name of the city, hopefully he learns and will teach us. He's speaking Portuguese and leaves September 4th. We're so excited for him and the experiences he'll have!
After that we started the drive up to Bloomington Lake. We must have driven a good five miles on the bumpiest, muddiest, rockiest road I've ever been on. We were only two miles away from the lake when we were greeted with snow covered roads. Oh well, at least it was a pretty drive. We turned around and stopped at a random trail head to eat lunch. It turned out to be a blast! It was so beautiful with streams and vivid green all around. We had fun exploring and taking Instagram worthy photos.

This might just be the cutest thing you've ever seen! The girls love their cousin!

As Emily said, here we have some major hair goals. Mary captured this epic model pose.

  Not sure what's happening here..

Nate brought a really fun game called Can Jams. You had to throw the Frisbee into the can or get it through the little hole in the front to get points. Loren and Kiana were the only ones who made it through the hole. They've got serious skills.

The kids were grateful for this dirt pile. Lydia told me one of her favorite parts of the trip was playing King of the Hill.

Em and Todd got their dance on.

Dinner at Cafe Sabor was amazing! I got the citrus shrimp salad and highly recommend it. Allie was over the moon about the creamy she got. Good times!

We had so much fun playing games and eating amazing food. Mary's crepe breakfast was to die for! The werewolf game (like Mafia) was EPIC. We broke records with Mom being a werewolf three times out of the four rounds we played. We definitely stayed up way too late every night playing the party games Nate brought and froze ourselves silly at the swimming pool.  I'm so blessed to have the most amazing siblings and parents. What would my world be without them? I don't even want to imagine. They lift me and strengthen me through all my trials. They're always there to laugh with and to cry with. I'm amazed at each of their talents and strengths. How grateful I am Heavenly Father created families.
On Sunday the fun kept rolling when we blessed Hudson. It was the first Sunday in our new ward since the Stake split. We're now in the Nibley 6th ward and are excited for a new change. All of our family was there except for Sarah, who's in Virginia, Rachel and Jon who are in Washington and Lindsay who's in Maryland serving a mission.  We missed them. We're so grateful for the love and support we had for Hudson. Loren gave the most beautiful blessing. I was so touched and felt very strongly that Hudson has a great work to do and much to accomplish in his life. I feel so humbled to be blessed with these children. They teach me so much and love me unconditionally even when I make so many mistakes. I'm also humbled to be married to such a strong, faithful man. He's my rock and my everything. I love him and thank Heavenly Father for having him beside me always.

  What good looking guys!

Hudson is truly so blessed to have the best grandparents on this earth. We love them so much!

I feel so blessed and grateful for all Heavenly Father has given me. My sweet three children, a loving husband and supportive family. What more do I need? Although life is never easy, it is so good.

Home Again!

The end of another school year is here and with it brings our cross country road trip to Utah. Yay! We planned our trip two months in advance because my dad needed time to book our hotels. At the time, it seemed like common sense to leave right after Loren's last final on Thursday. I mean, what did we have to wait around for? The sooner the better!    Fast forward a week before we were to leave, I was seriously questioning our decision making abilities. Why didn't we just wait to leave on Friday so Loren could help me pack and finish cleaning? I still had a million things to do and couldn't get any of it done with Lydia wanting my attention. Loren was busy studying for finals and I felt guilty asking him for any help. What the blazes were we thinking?! It was a stressful time, to say the least.    One morning we woke to sirens and fire engines blaring. The visitors center had caught on fire! There was smoke everywhere and we spent the rest of the mornin...

"Grandma and Grandpa- Fun!"

One thing i've really missed while being in Virginia is going to our siblings competitions and events. It's been so fun to be able to see them all in action this month.    Todd and Brendan were both involved in a debate competition. I was really impressed with how well they did, it's a scary thing but they did great!   The Wellsville mile is one of my favorite events of the year. It seems like theres more kids every time and they keep getting faster. We were so proud of Todd and Brendan, they both ran personal best times. Lydia had a blast watching all the kids, she wanted to run with them! Todd's enterauge. Emily and her friends were able to run with him. Great job boys!   This girl has amazed me with her dancing. She's grown so much from last year and is such a gorgeous dancer. It's so much fun to watch her. We went to her end of year dance performance and had a great time. Thank goodness for Loren, he's the only one who remembers to camera to take pictu...

Thanksgiving Bash!.. and Crash

I have to say, this past week has been the most fun and exhausting week we've had in a long time.  But before we get into that, we had our first snowfall a couple weeks ago.  Lydia was DYING to make a snowman so daddy went out and helped her make one. They had a blast!   Here's some of Lydia's school papers.    The weekend before Thanksgiving our basement flooded.  One of the tubes that hook onto the gutter was pointed directly towards our house instead of away.  Thus, we had water in our family room and the unfinished room.  It kept coming in for two days.  About every 10 minutes we had to suck up the water on the first day, then about every hour on the second.  I think we have learned our lesson and plan on digging trenches to make a more efficient drainage system.  Thanks to everyone who helped! No permanent damage was done and we're so grateful.   Loren had a guys night with his...
