The new year started off with a bang. Rachel and Jon are engaged! We are so excited! Jon is such a great guy and I love that Rach is so happy. They set the date for May. Can't wait!
Freezer meals are so so good. And not just tasty good, but save-my-sanity good.
Daddy always reads Allie a story, or five, before bed. Allie LOVES books. I read through them all then she wants them read again. I love it.
This winter has been very mild compared to last winter- thank goodness! But with those mild temperatures, inevitably comes flooding in our basement. We decided to bite the bullet and buy ourselves a new shopvac. I figure if we're going to be dealing with flooding every few weeks then it will be worth it. Loren was able to get some dirt from Avon and spent all day Saturday sloping the ground away from our house. We still have a lot to do this spring to fix our drainage system but hopefully the dirt will help us until then.
Lydia and Allie love spinning around in this chair while we workout. Lydia actually loves to workout and reminds me if I "forget". She's all the motivation I need, apparently. We've started to go to a Refit class on Tuesday's and Thursdays and Lydia keeps up and does all the moves! It's pretty adorable.
She put her own shorts on and I had to take a pic of both her legs in the same hole.
There are times when Allie and Lydia have a blast chasing each other around the house and playing other things. There are also times, however, that they yell, cry and hit each other. Allie knows which toys Lydia hates to share, this little red farm being one of them. One day when I was in my room, Allie comes barreling through the door with the farm and hides behind my bed. She peeked over the side to make sure Lydia wasn't around, then proceeded to play. Oh boy. This one's smart.
A cold, snowy day called for a Moana party with popcorn.
All of my law school blog books have come!! I can't explain how happy these make me and I'm so grateful I chose to document our experiences. There's a lot I've forgotten and it's so fun to read back on it all. Just two more books to print then I'll be all caught up!
Lydia loves them too! Because, let's face it, most of the pages are pictures of her. She loves telling Allie what's happening in each picture. What a priceless gift these are.
One Saturday Loren let me do some shopping without the girls. They stayed home and built reading forts!
Loren had a hearing with his dad last Wednesday and I went and watched. It's so fun to see them both in court together. We're getting excited for Loren's second trial coming up in a couple weeks. He's staying extremely busy at work but he loves what he's doing. I'm very proud of him.
