Fall is in the air! I love this time of year. Crisp air, beautiful fall leaves and pumpkin spice everything. As happy as I am to see this new season come, we sure had a fun last few weeks of summer.
Daddy-daughter time is the best.
Every time I drop Loren off at the front runner stop, Lydia starts wailing and crying to ride too. I found it easier to just drive him to work sometimes rather than face her massive meltdowns of wanting to ride the train. So on Labor Day, we decided to make her dream come true. We rode the front runner into Salt Lake. You'd think it was Christmas morning with how excited she was!
We went to Temple Square. Lydia couldn't believe how big the Temple was.
We stopped by the Church History Museum before we headed home. While I was feeding Allie, Loren ran into Aaron Thatcher. It's always fun to see him.
The children's section in the museum was a blast. Lydia played with these shapes for at least 30 minutes. What a fun day!
Loren took Lydia on a walk one night and was in front of her with his hands in his pockets. He turned around to this, "Daddy, I have pockets too!"
Last weekend was the Peck family trip to Lagoon. It was a total blast! Lydia had died and gone to heaven, she loved all rides. Her favorite was Rattle Snake Rapids.

We had time for one more ride before lunch. Loren saw Cliffhanger and suggested we go on that. As we walked onto the ride we saw signs saying, "You will get wet, you may get soaked!" We were sure we weren't going to get that wet, especially not soaked. Apparently we were wrong!
Of course we had to ride the train!
It was such a fun day with a lot of memories made.
To say I've neglected taking pictures of Allie would be an understatement. I feel so guilty! So I snapped a few on her two month birthday. We sure love this cutie.
One of Lydia's favorite activities.
Saturday we went with Cam and Mary to the State Fair. There was so much to see and do, it was a blast!
Lydia and Greyson held hands like this most the time. Adorable!
Not sure how to get past this puddle...
A popcorn kernel pit!
That evening we had a stake fall party at our church. There was dinner and carnival themed activities for the kids. This lady was absolutely incredible at making balloons! When it was Lydia's turn, the lady asked if she wanted a butterfly, tiara or a flower. She shook her head and said, "A pink dinosaur." So that's what she got!
I guess she was happy about it!
We've had some good times. Along with the good, there's always the not so good. Some days I struggle with trying to handle a baby and a very energetic toddler. We went in for Allie's two month appointment and shots on Friday. Allie was angry from the moment we got there to when we drove away. I remember something about needing to give her vitamin D and her head being a tiny bit lopsided so make sure to...(insert something very important I couldn't hear over Allie's screams.) As we were walking back to our car, me holding a screaming Allie and Lydia holding a sucker and Frozen stickers, Lydia announced, "That was a fun time at the doctors!" Looking back at her poor screaming sister I thought, Allie definitely got the short end of that stick.
I've been trying to exercise a little everyday- sometimes it's longer than others but I figure it's the thought that counts. This morning I thought I'd be an all-star mom and go running. So I hauled the girls in the stroller with their blankets, snacks, binkie, extra binkie, drinks and nursing cover (just in case, you can never be too prepared!) We have a bike trail right behind our house that apparently goes all the way to Ogden. It's a nice trail to run on because there's no cars to worry about, just stray balls that might smack your head from budding golfers. We made it about a mile and half then turned around and started back. That's when Allie decided she was done. Not even the binkie would quiet her cries, which were quickly growing in volume. So, whether I wanted it or not, I got in a good sprint trying to get home as fast as I could.
All of the sudden Lydia shrieked, "I have to go to the bathroom!" My heart dropped and I started to panic.
"Uh, you have to go right now?"
"Yes! It's coming, mom! Right now!" I veered off the path and parked the stroller.
"Ok, come on Lydia!" I shouted, directing her to a nearby ditch.
"But it's not a toilet!"
"Yes, I know. It's called a natural toilet. We're just going to go right here."
"But I can't, Mom!"
I started pulling her pants down and noticed she'd already messed them. "Ok, let's take these off really carefully, and, wait, don't step on them!" She stepped on them. Her shoes were now covered with you know what. "Agh!" I cried. I grabbed some leaves from a nearby bush and tried wiping her bum to the best of my ability.
"Mom, more is coming!"
"Ok, just go!"
"I can't, Mom! Don't use leaves!"
At that point I was praying with all the energy of my soul that no one would come by. Allie's screams were at an all time high, so I made an executive decision to relive my track days and book it the last three blocks home. I could only imagine what the golfers were thinking as I raced past, hair flying in the wind, huffing and puffing like I would die, cries of "Oh no, it's coming mom! I have to go to the bathroom, now!" and baby losing her voice.
Miraculously Lydia made it on the potty and then I put her in the bathtub to wash off while I fed Allie. All of the sudden I hear, "I have to go to the bathroom again! Whoops... there's something in the bathtub, mom!"
Mercy.
Needless to say, my life would be pretty boring without these two. Im sure I'll laugh about this tomorrow but for today, Im just going to take a really long nap.
