Last weekend our ward had a mother-daughter "campout" at a member's house in Goshen, about 45 minutes away from Lexington. It turned out to be a blast! I wish more ward's would do this, it was a great bonding experience. The house we stayed at was AMAZING. It reminded me of a Jane Austen house with it's huge circular driveway and majestic views that surrounded it.
Michelle and I drove up together and got there around 6pm. We mingled with the other ladies then had a potluck dinner. There was everything from bean pizza (say what??) to manicotti. Potluck at it's finest.
After dinner we gathered around the campfire and had a short devotional followed by smore's. It was Lydia's first campfire experience and she was in heaven! It was so fun to experience it with her, counting the stars and watching the marshmallows turn brown. These are the moments I want to keep and remember forever.
Lydia, Adeline, Michelle and I all slept in a bedroom together. That's my kind of camping! Loren was actually on a young men campout that same night. I guess I can't call what we did camping because he was in a tent without a sleeping bag. Yikes. We had a great breakfast in the morning then made the drive home. What a fantastic time we had!
The view from looking out from the house. I wish I would have taken more pictures! By the time I thought of it we were getting ready to leave. Hopefully these show you a glimpse of how truly beautiful it was.

Lydia and I usually go for a walk on the Woods Creek trail in the mornings. It's been raining a lot this week so we've been stuck inside. One morning it finally let up but was still overcast. I figured it was now or never to save our sanity so I threw Lydia in the stroller and we were off. After about a mile out, rain came out of nowhere! It started pouring so I looked for someplace we could wait it out but didn't see anything. Our only option was me sprinting like a mad-women the last mile to our home and trying to avoid the concerned looks of well-meaning elderly women driving past. Im sure I didn't win the mother-of-the-day award but Lydia actually thought it was the best thing that ever happened to her.

Make a funny face!
New horses! She's going through quite the horse phase right now. I'm not sure how many times a week we watch Spirit but thankfully I never get tired of it. Barney on the other hand...
New puzzle from Grandma. Turned out to be a fantastic Conference activity. She loves it!
She has a thing with kissing lately.
Giraffe from Grandma!
She loved face timing with Grandma, Grandpa, Emi, Brayden and Todd.
Our friend gave us this pumpkin and instead of carving it, I decided to accessorize him. Lydia always waves to him by our front door when we leave or come home. We dubbed him Mr Pumpkin Head.
We're sure glad we have this little girl in our family! She brings so much joy and laughter into our home. She is the most sensitive toddler you'll ever meet, always ready with a hug and kiss. She loves to dance and make funny faces. She's extremely shy around strangers but opens right up when she get's to know them. Horses are her favorite animal and she loves coloring and doing puzzles. She has a full vocabulary and blows me away with some of the things she says sometimes. Her favorite snacks are cheese sticks and grapes and her favorite food is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We've had the best two years with you, Lydia! Here's to many, many more! Love you more than you'll ever know.
