What a fun week we've had! I feel like it went by super fast. We've spent a lot of time outside as it's finally cooled down a little bit.
This tree in our front yard makes for a pretty great hide-out.

This was the first year Loren didn't have class on Labor Day and we took advantage of it! Michelle and I took the girls to a parade in Buena Vista in the morning. It definitely wasn't Hyrum's 4th of July parade but it was cute and the girls were over-the-moon about the bucket-load of candy they got. Next we went over to our friend Eve's and had ourselves a pool party! Lydia and Adeline loved hanging out in the "boat". We sure love our time spent with Eve. She's like a grandma to Lydia and is so sweet. Things are progressing slow but steady with her investigation with the church. We're hoping she'll commit to a baptism date within the next few months.
Next was a live band at Maury Park in Buena Vista and fireworks to follow. When Lydia heard the music she made Loren and I stand up and dance with her. In her words, "Mommy, Daddy, dance!" It was a little bit adorable. I was surprised at how awesome the fireworks were for a small town. They didn't disappoint! It was a great way to end a fun-filled day.
Michelle went to New York for a few days so we got to spend some time with Adeline while she was gone. Lydia got really good at saying, "Be soft, Adeline" and "No, its Lydia's turn, Adeline". I had to get creative one day when Adeline's dad, Clint forgot to leave me her carseat. We had to get outside to keep from driving each other crazy. I decided to stuff both girls in Lydia's stroller and walk 3 blocks to the nearest park. It was quite the sight, Adeline half sitting on Lydia, half hanging out the stroller with Lydia whining, "No Adeline! Squish! I'm stuck!" and Adeline laughing hysterically. To my relief we made it to the park without popping the stroller tires and the girls were in one piece. What one must to do keep their sanity! They had their moments, of course, but they also couldn't be better friends. Lydia always cries when Adeline has to leave. We sure love that little girl!
I told Lydia to smile for the camera and we got this.
My brother, Cam and his wife Mary got this bike for Lydia. She LOVES her pink bike. She can't quite pedal or steer it yet, but in a couple months she'll be a pro. What a perfect gift!
Our Sunday walk today was a blast. Lydia ran pretty much the whole trail, which is at least a mile. I think I see cross country in her future!
She had to hug every tree she passed. Good to see she's concerned for the environment.

Lounging in her favorite pink chair.
We love our Sunday walks on the Woods Creek trail. Lydia's favorite part is throwing rocks in the river.

Now that immersion is done, Loren's hasn't been nearly as busy this week. It's been great! His next project will be writing an amicus brief for a case that is coming before the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. The Court will be sitting here in Lexington at W&L for the oral arguments and Loren will give a 10 minute argument before the court. Out of the whole school, Loren was the one chosen to do it. It's a great honor and I'm very proud of him. The argument will be the last week of October.
Lydia is at such a fun stage! She is such a sweetheart and melts my heart everyday. She always says, "Thank you, momma," and gives the best hugs. She can sing the whole "I Love You" song from Barney (the hug and kiss included) and is working on her dance moves. One of our favorite things to do is dance to Disney songs. I couldn't imagine a life without my sweet Lydia.
Well another week has come and gone and it's on to the next! We love you all so much!
