It's hard to believe it's the middle of September! Time is going so fast fir me right now. It could be because Lydia's birthday is coming up and I'm feeling nostalgic and sad that she's grown up so fast. Every day she's learning and growing...and finding new ways to get into everything. But I wouldn't trade these days for anything. I feel so blessed to be her mom.
Tonight we went to Sweet Things to get ice cream in celebration of the anniversary of our engagement (we find any excuse to get ice cream). Except for the fact that they gave Loren the wrong flavor, his least favorite flavor of all time no less, it was a great night. I usually take lydia to a park by the library and we have a great time but it's always so much better with dad there. We took a few pics of the occasion:
Unfortunately for Lydia, the only part of ice cream she got was the spoon. I don't think she minded though.
Good times tonight. Lydia and I are staying busy with play dates, story time at the library, going on walks, playing at the park and trying new foods. We hang out with our friends Michelle and Adeline quite a bit. I watch Adeline Monday's and Wednesday's while Michelle teaches violin lessons. It's been interesting to see how Lydia reacts to her. I was horrified one day when lydia just bit Adeline's arm out of the blue and left four distinct red teeth marks. Somehow I've got to teach her that's not the way to make lasting friendships. Yesterday both babies were pretty tired and grumpy. Loren and I were asked to be on a panel for first year law students with families. It started at six at the law school and I was left to feed, change and transport the two grumpies. I wish I could have filmed it, what a complete zoo. After we got there I was able to relax and it turned out to be a great evening. Props to moms of twins, seriously, they are superhuman.
Well it's late and sadly Lydia prefers to wake with the birds. Loren is working hard getting ready for the moot court competition. He is doing such a wonderful job and is sacrificing so much for our family. I feel so blessed to have my little family and love them more than anything.
We hope you're all doing well and things are working out with your busy schedules. We love you so much and are so grateful for your support!
