Ups and Downs

This week has been full of ups and downs. I put off Lydia's four month shots as long as possible, so Tuesday was the dreaded day. I felt so anxious and prayed that they wouldn't be anything like last time. Before her shots she was weighed and evaluated. She's doing just great- she's very strong and will most likely be sitting up on her own in a couple weeks! Crazy enough, she hasn't been gaining weight like she needs to, so the doctor recommended starting her on solid foods. This milestone already? How the time flies!   I told the doctor how terrible the shots were before and she suggested spreading them out so she's not getting all three in the same day. We thought it was a great idea so Lydia had just one shot and the other two were scheduled a month later. This seemed to work fabulously as she didn't show any reactions or symptoms from the vaccine at all the next couple of days. Success!! Hopefully the other ones will go just as smoothly.   Lo...

Do you Wanna Build a Snowman?

Well we've had a full week here at the Peck house. It's hard to know where to start!    Sleep is a bit of a rare commodity these days. Ever since Lydia turned 3.5 months old, she's been waking up every two or three hours at night. This week was especially bad and I'm pretty sure it's because of teething. One night she woke up every hour for four hours. I hope those teeth are worth it!    She's been trying hard to sit up this week. When she's on her back, she'll lift her head and legs off the floor and just hold them in the air. I now know why she's skinnier than all the other babies her age- she's doing ab workouts like all day long!     Lydia's also been talking/ singing a lot more. In fact, today in church the primary chorister told the kids that Lydia was singing louder than them all. It was a true fact. I find it amazing how long she can hold out "lalala" with one breath. It's so fun to see her personality coming out mo...

Livin the life

Time just keeps chugging. It's hard to believe Loren is starting his sixth week of school. He was working hard on a memo that was due this past week. All of his other classmates are busy interviewing for internships for the summer- mostly in d.c. And the surrounding area. We feel so blessed to already have one lined up. It's a huge stress reliever!    Loren and his mom have been working on Loren's mission books for months now. It's been a huge project and they've both spent late nights and early mornings trying to put it together. There's going to be two volumes and last week the first one came in the mail! It looks so great and will be such a treasure for our kids. We can't wait to show it to everyone and let you read about his amazing experiences. A huge thank you goes to mom peck for all the hard work she put into it!    Last Sunday we went to dinner at the schnieters. They are such a fun family and we love spending time with them. Their daughter has a ...
