As many of you know, the 4th is my favorite holiday. I just love all the traditions and family time! Traditions are something that are very important to both Loren and I because they create memories. Every year on the third we go up to the HPER field on USU’s campus and watch the Logan Fireworks. My brother, Todd, wasn’t feeling well that night, so we missed being with him and my dad. The rest of us got up there around seven and played games together until it was too dark to see. Uncle Scott and Alan’s family came up a little later and it was fun to see them. The fireworks were spectacular this year! There were smiley faces and ones I had never seen before. Loren had a great time trying to get pictures of them on our new camera- he’s becoming quite the photographer.
The next morning we woke bright and early and drove to Nibley to have our annual Rigby 4th of July breakfast. It was fun to talk with family we hadn’t seen in awhile and as always, the food was delicious!
I’m so grateful our spot the watch the parade is in the shade! I’m not sure if it’s because I’m pregnant or what, but lately I can’t stand to be in the sun or heat. Loren laughs at this sometimes as I feel it’s my duty to save everyone else too- I guess some people like the heat? Beats me. The only thing I wanted from the parade was an otter pop- and I got one! (Thanks Mary!!) There were some fun floats and we spotted our sisters Emily, Rachel and Lindsay who looked like they were sweltering (there I go with the heat again), but I’m sure they had fun being in the parade.
After the parade we walked over to Grandma Swan’s and had a marvelous lunch. Barbecue pork, salads, watermelon and, of course, Fat Boys for dessert! We had fun visiting and being with family. We missed the Peck’s, they were in Lewiston, but we caught up with them for a bit later. Thanks Grandma for a wonderful afternoon!

Back at the Rigby’s, we had fun visiting, playing football and volleyball, having puzzle races, and eating some more. Later that night Cam, Mary, Loren and I watched Star Trek and took a brief intermission to go watch the Hyrum fireworks. We met up with Mom & Dad Peck and the family for a few minutes. It was good to see them! This year’s Fourth of July was amazing, and Loren and I are so grateful for our wonderful family who made it all possible! Thanks for the memories!
This is so fun! The pictures just tell the whole story. So well written and I cannot wait to receive more and more updates. I am so sorry you have to move so far away before we get these very newsy blogs.
