Loving Christmas in Utah!

Lydia is now 11 weeks old! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. We have had a lot of adventures since we last posted, the main one being our trip to Utah.   The last week of November Lydia had her 2 month shots. It was a miserable week- I'm seriously DREADING the 4 month ones. She cried constantly and didn't sleep much. Even though she wasn't doing the best, that Thursday was Thanksgiving and Loren and I really wanted to get out of Lexington for a bit. We decided to drive to Roanoke and try the Golden Corral, which was ironic because I remember driving past that restaurant in years past thinking, "Who would go to a restaurant for Thanksgiving? Poor people!" Funny how life works sometimes. We got there and were amazed at how many people were in line! We weren't sure how long Lydia was going to sleep but decided to risk waiting in line. Sadly, she woke up and we had to take turns holding her as the other one ate/got their food. We finished eating and...

Happy 6 weeks!

We have been so terrible at updating! It's funny how free time goes out the window with a little one. It's so crazy that Lydia is 6 weeks old. How are the nights so long but the weeks go so fast? Our lives have turned upside down with our new little addition. It's hard to remember the days where we could go and do what we wanted when we wanted. But we are enjoying our little Lydia so much, she is a cutie!   This week has been crazy! The main event has been Lydia's 6 week growth spurt. No one ever told me about growth spurts, I just had a vague idea that babies have them but didn't know what they entailed. Well now we know. Lydia wanted to eat constantly- at least every hour. When she wasn't eating, she was crying. One night she slept only one hour. I didn't think we would survive, she pushed us both to our limits. I'm hoping that the spurt is over and we can regain what little of a schedule she had before. We have never been through such a rod...

An update at last!

72 Hours and Counting

(Jamie) (Loren)    It's finally come! We're down to 3 days till we'll have a new member of our family. Last week at our doctor's appointment they told us that our baby isn't growing anymore so to keep her safe they will induce me on Thursday. We'll go to the hospital Wednesday night to start the process and then hopefully have a new little one sometime Thursday! I can't decide if knowing when she's coming is better or just waiting. It feels weird to finally have a date set. I'm all a bundle of nerves and have no idea how I'll keep myself sane till Wednesday! So exciting though!    My parents were originally coming out next Friday, a week after she'd be born, but my dad pulled some strings and was able to get my mom on a flight out here this Saturday! I'm so excited and grateful. I was a little worried about being alone with her while Loren's at school the first week so my mom's coming is a great blessing.    Speaking of S...
