Happy Easter!

  Spring is officially here in Lexington. I absolutely love this time of year here. There's blossoms blooming on the trees and flowers springing up everywhere you look. The Magnolia tree's are particularly stunning. I'll have to get a picture of them. It all just makes me so happy! I've seen a difference in Lydia too, she's much happier if she get's some quality time outside.    While Lydia and I have been dancing in blossoming tulip gardens, Loren's been wallowing in the thorny drudgery of law school. He's been up super late working on things for Black Lung and Law Review. Super late like 3 am. We were getting flashbacks from his 2L year.  We really should start making a countdown chain of the days we have left.    Lydia loves playing "dream castle" with daddy.     We had a fun Easter weekend. We decided to do Lydia's Easter basket and egg hunts on Saturday so we could focus more on the Savior on Sunday. I was so ...

Our Perfect Spring Break

  If I had to think of one word to describe our Spring Break last week, if would have to be "perfect". Our whole three years of being here we've never just taken off and gone somewhere fun. I think we just get stuck in our routine and with Loren being so busy we just never really think about it. I'm not sure what got into us two days before Spring Break, but all the sudden we had a hotel booked for Virginia Beach. I have to say, it's kind of fun to be spontaneous.    So Monday morning we started the 4 hour trek to the beach! We accidentally let it slip that we were going to the beach and Lydia could talk and think of nothing else. She was SO excited. When we got to our hotel, which was conveniently located right across the street from the beach, Lydia was about in a panic attack to make some sand castles. Even though it was crazy windy, we decided we couldn't make her wait any longer.    The beach was stunning! White sand, blue sky and the sound of crash...
