Venturing out of Lexington

This week has been so busy and has literally flown by. Lydia had lots of friends over this week and lots of practice with sharing. Sometimes were easier than others. We had a relief society presidency meeting finally and it felt so good to come together and get caught up. I really love our new president. She's always smiling and telling jokes but can also be sensitive and understanding. I think it's been a really good change.    Thursday was the RS holiday dinner. We had ham, rolls, salad and dessert. We had a good turnout and it was fun to talk with sister's that I haven't in awhile. I'm so grateful for the wonderful friends I have here.    This is Lydia's favorite book of all time. It's Winnie the Pooh's Book of Nursery Rhymes.  We've read it so much now that she can sing all 50 nursery rhymes with me.       Friday Michelle and I felt the need to break out of Lexington so we took Adeline and Lydia to the Children's Museum in ...

A Night of Singing and Music

After such a busy week last week, I was so grateful for a relaxing weekend. Loren didn't have nearly as much to do so we actually watched 2 movies together! It was lovely and greatly needed.    Pizza time! Adeline and Lydia loved helping make the pizza. Lydia ate the pineapple while Adeline gobbled the olives.    Our friend Eve is still investigating the church. She'll come every week but no one will talk to her but us. We really want her to have other friends so that when we leave for a month in December and ultimately in May, she doesn't disappear. Loren decided to invite some members from the ward over to Eve's for a night of singing and music sharing. Eve really likes gospel music so we spent a good amount of time singing gospel songs. We were so glad that people came to support Eve and she was able to make new friends and feel more comfortable. We just love her so much! Michelle playing the cello. She is seriously amazing. I could list...

Boo to You!

This week felt like an eternity. If there ever was a "honeymoon" stage to our third year it's dead and in its grave.  Between law review, the armed forces appeal, mock trial, classes and the Black Lung Clinic Loren hardly has a free minute. If I had come into the third year thinking it was just a normal year of law school, it would have helped a lot. I feel like this year has been even more stressful than the other two combined. The 3rd year is supposed to be the most relaxing, but somehow we missed that ship. I'm really proud of all that Loren's doing though. I think he's getting some real life experiences that he never would have otherwise. I just wish it was all a little more spread out.    So with Loren gone so much, Lydia and have had A LOT of quality bonding time together. We've had good days and we've had flat out terrible ones. Lydia is very determined and knows exactly what she wants. When she doesn't get it, it's usually the fit ...
