Last week of freedom!

Orange = Loren,   Black = Jamie This is the last week before law school starts ... So we tried to see something new every day. First stop -- the Blue Ridge Parkway.  It runs on the top of this mountain range all the way to North Carolina, and the views are great!   We've really been surprised by the Lexington community.  Everybody is so nice and conversational.  Even in Walmart the employees strike up conversations with us.  Everybody says hello.  This week was the Lexington festival, and they closed off main street to set up tons of booths right in the middle of the street.  I think the whole town was there. Loren let me buy the cutest peach tutu for our little girl. I just cant wait to meet her! I'm 34 weeks along and have been doing good so far- apart from some feet swelling and feeling hot all the time. That's nothing that the Larsen's pool cant fix though :) Kelsie Bair from Hyrum has been with us this we...

Lions, Tigers ... Sneezing Giraffes ...

This photo might just be the greatest I've accidentally taken in my life! As you can see, we've had quite a fun week. On Wednesday Loren and I went to a few consignment stores looking for baby things and some odds and ends we needed. The last store we went to was called Habitat For Humanity. As we were looking around, we spotted what looked like a brand new baby swing. I tried it out and it worked great! It even plays some cute little jungle songs while it swings. We asked the cashier how much it was and she said she'd let us have it for $5! Usually they don't sell baby things but someone had dropped it off and the store just wanted to get rid of it. AND because it was 15% off everything day, the total cost came to $4.75. Basically, it was the best bargain of our lives and I couldn't stop smiling all day. We've been so blessed!      Friday we decided to check out the Natural Bridge Zoo which is just 15 minutes from our house. Loren had been t...

Journey to Virginia

Well, Loren and I finally have internet! Happy day! We've had a CRAZY past two weeks. The week before we left for Virginia my parents went on a cruise so Loren and I stayed with my siblings while they were gone for a week. It was so much fun and loved spending time with them before we left. I have to say though, my mom's amazing! Running kids to swimming, football, cross country and taking care of the house is a full time job- one that I never fully appreciated when I lived at home. Funny how our perspective changes over time. I sure love you, mom!   In between all that, we had to pack and move out of our apartment. A HUGE thanks to everyone who helped- you are all angels and we couldn't have done it without you! Mom Peck and Emily came and helped sort everything into "going to virginia" and "going to storage" boxes. If they hadn't come I would have sat on the floor and cried, they were amazing. Chris and Kristen also came to the rescue with lemona...
